The 1992 show of Mark is still one of the best watched comedy shows ever. What made it so popular and how was Mark so remarkable in the show? It is something that might have been questioned by everyone who watched the show. The show stealer Mark was quite charming in appearance and clear uttering in his dialogues which made all that the show required. The show was originally aired in the year 1992 and ran for a successful five years till 1997. The main cast were mark curry and Holly Robinson. Curry hails from Oakland and it was where the show happened.
Produced by Jeff Franklin Productions and Warner bros productions, it was aired once a week on Tuesdays. The genre of the show is Sitcom. The name of the main character played is Mark Cooper. He is a Basketball player who turns coach and gym trainer eventually. He dates with Vanessa Russell, the daughter of rich parents. She is fickle minded and keeps changing jobs often. Finally she settles herself as a medical practitioner. She used to spend a lot on unnecessary things and so removed from parents fund. She breaks up with her boyfriend and builds a successful relationship with Cooper. Robin Dumors is Cooper’s best friend and suggests Cooper t move with Vanessa to pay rent. Pamela Moore is the principal of Oakridge high school whom Cooper finds tough. She later realises that Cooper was a good teacher and offers him a teaching job in the school. She is also Cooper’s sister’s best friend and his own baby sitter during his childhood.
Cooper’s cousin, Geneva Lee, meanwhile moves in with Cooper and Vanessa in to their room. She works as a music teacher at Oakridge high and then seen as principal of the school in the next episodes. There is also another cousin of Mark Nicole Lee who also stays close to him. She engages in to friendship with Tyler Foster. They build humorous scenes together which formed some of season’s best comedy bits. Earvin Bradman is one of Mark’s favourite students who plays good basketball. Not so good at studies, he finally sees himself graduating with difficulty. He marries his high school girl friend and works as a security guard in the school after graduating from the school. He happily settles personally and professionally.
Tyler Foster is a neighbour of Mark and creates lot of frustration to Mark in initial episodes and turns his best buddy after that. He is considered his little brtother later on. Mark’s cousin Nicole maintains good friendship with him. Tyler gets attracted to Vanessa which irritates Mark. Tyler is also attracted to Geneva.
All the sequence of events turn hilarious episode after episode putting viewers to ultimate comedy. The cast is extra ordinary in performances and the result is amazing. The show also grabbed some good music which became a rave then back in 90s. Denzil Foster and Thomas Elroy penned the lyrics. Everything of the show is mind blowing. Hence it is such a huge hit.
